Leading engineering group, British Engines, has launched a Tusker Car Scheme for its UK based employees.
The scheme enables employees to sacrifice a portion of their gross salary in return for a new electric or hybrid car, with zero deposit.
Employees will benefit from free vehicle maintenance including; servicing, MOT, and replacement tyres; as well as free motor insurance, road tax and breakdown cover.
As part of its environmental commitment, the North East engineering group hope that the scheme will make it easier for employees to exchange their petrol or diesel cars for an ultra-low emissions vehicle (ULEV), helping them to lower their impact on the environment.
The scheme is the newest addition to the British Engines Group’s comprehensive employee benefits, BE Rewards, which includes access to discounted lifestyle benefits for both themselves and their families.
Wendy Tatters, Director of HR at British Engines, said: “As a business, environmental responsibility is a key focus and as part of this, we strive to support our employees to make greener choices wherever possible.
“The Tusker car scheme supports this by making it more affordable for our employees to lease a ULEV, helping them to travel in a more environmentally conscious way.”
Since launching the scheme in the summer, the scheme has attracted a lot of interest from employees with over twenty five people signing up for a new car.
Craig Duncan, Group Finance Supervisor at British Engines, said: “The introduction of the Tusker scheme at the group came just as my existing contract hire car was up for renewal. Purchasing my new car through the Tusker scheme was really simple and paying through salary sacrifice is saving me money, happy days!”
